Detailed 4-Day Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara Safari Itinerary
Day 1: From Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
Your safari begins with a pickup from your hotel in Nairobi. Your guide will take you on a 3 to 4-hour scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will reach the park by mid-morning and continue to your camp or lodge.
After lunch, you will go on an afternoon game drive in the park. Look out for animals like zebras, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, buffalos, lions, and more. Overnight at your chosen lodge or camp.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve
After an early breakfast, check out of your lodge. As you leave the park, enjoy a short morning game drive near Lake Nakuru, where you can see many water birds and other wildlife. Then drive south to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve.
When you arrive, have lunch at your lodge or camp. In the evening, go for a short game drive across the Mara plains. Overnight at your chosen lodge or camp.
Day 3: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend this full day exploring different parts of the Masai Mara. You will enjoy game drives at different times of the day to see as much wildlife as possible. Expect to see the Big Five: lions, buffalos, rhinos, leopards, and elephants. Other animals include wildebeests, zebras, hippos, cheetahs, and many birds.
You can also choose from optional activities such as a guided walking safari, a visit to a Maasai village, or a hot air balloon ride over the park. Overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 4: Return to Nairobi
