Detailed 7-Day Kenya Safari Itinerary
Day 1: From Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi. Begin the drive to Amboseli National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, go on your first game drive in Amboseli.
Enjoy views of wildlife with the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Overnight in Amboseli.
Day 2: Game Viewing in Amboseli National Park
Amboseli is well known for its large herds of elephants and many other animals and birds. Start with an early morning game drive before sunrise to look for predators and other active wildlife.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and rest during the hot hours of the day. In the late afternoon, head back into the park for more sightings.
Visit the observation hill for a good view of the park. Return to your lodge before sunset. Overnight in Amboseli.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Naivasha National Park – Boat Trip
After breakfast, leave Amboseli and drive to Lake Naivasha. Arrive around lunchtime and check in at your lodge. Later, enjoy a boat trip on the freshwater lake.
You will see hippos, many bird species, and other animals along the shores. After the boat ride, go on a guided walking safari on Crescent Island. Overnight in Lake Naivasha.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park – Game Drive
After breakfast, enjoy a biking safari in Hell’s Gate National Park. Ride past zebras, giraffes, and antelopes. After the ride, continue to Lake Nakuru National Park.
On arrival, go on a game drive to explore the park. Look out for birds and possibly the Big Five animals. Overnight in Lake Nakuru.
Day 5: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
Start your day with an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru. Return for breakfast, check out, and then drive to Masai Mara. Arrive in the afternoon, have lunch, and relax at your lodge.
You can choose to rest for the day or take a short game drive. Overnight in Maasai Mara.
Day 6: Game Viewing in Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend the day exploring the Masai Mara. Enjoy game drives at different times. Expect to see lions, wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, leopards, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and more.
Visit the Mara River and, if your visit is during the migration season, you might see the famous wildebeest crossing. Overnight in Maasai Mara.
Day 7: Transfer Back to Nairobi
After breakfast, check out and go on a game drive as you leave the park. Look out for any final wildlife sightings. Continue the drive back to Nairobi. Your guide will drop you at your hotel or at the airport.
