Vegetation in Lake Nakuru National Park – Lake Nakuru National Park is well known for its wildlife, but the plants and landscape also play a big role in supporting the animals. The park has different types of vegetation, including woodland, bush, and savanna. The land in the park includes open plains, ridges, escarpments, and the lake itself.
About three-quarters of the park is covered by Lake Nakuru and other small water bodies. Around the lake, there are alkaline swamps. These swamps are rich in algae, which attract large numbers of flamingos to the area.
Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the three most visited national parks in Kenya. It has a large number of birds and animals. Over 450 bird species have been recorded here. There are also more than 50 animal species living in the park. The lake that gives the park its name is found right in the middle of the park. The park is located in the central part of Kenya, about 3 to 4 hours’ drive west of Nairobi, the capital city. If you choose to fly, the flight from Nairobi to the park takes about 30 to 40 minutes.

Some of the common animals in the park include black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, waterbucks, impalas, baboons, lions, leopards, colobus monkeys, buffaloes, hippos, and cheetahs.
