Detailed 10-Day Kenya Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
You will be picked up from Nairobi and driven to Lake Nakuru National Park. On the way, stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint for great views. After lunch at your lodge, enjoy your first game drive of the safari. Look out for animals like giraffes, zebras, buffalos, hippos, lions, hyenas, and more. Spend the night at your lodge in Lake Nakuru.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru National Park – Game drive
Enjoy a full day of game drives in Lake Nakuru National Park. You will visit different areas of the park to see as many animals as possible. Visit Lake Nakuru for bird watching and spot animals near the lake. Visit Baboon Cliff for wide views of the park. Return to your lodge for the night.
Day 3: To Lake Naivasha National Park – Boat safari
After breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha National Park. This park has a freshwater lake in the Rift Valley. Go for a drive in the park and later enjoy a boat safari on the lake. See hippos, birds, and animals near the water. Visit Crescent Island for a guided nature walk. Spend the night at your lodge near Lake Naivasha.
Day 4: To Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, check out and leave for the famous Masai Mara National Reserve near the Tanzania border. Arrive and check in at your lodge, have lunch, and relax. Enjoy the peaceful views of the Mara. Spend the night at your lodge in the Maasai Mara.
Day 5–6: Explore Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend two full days exploring the Masai Mara. This park is well known for the yearly wildebeest migration and is home to many animals like lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, giraffes, gazelles, leopards, hyenas, and many birds. Enjoy your game drives and relax at your lodge in the evenings.
Day 7–8: Explore Amboseli National Park
Leave Masai Mara and drive to Amboseli National Park. This park is famous for its views of Mount Kilimanjaro and its large herds of elephants. Spend two days enjoying activities like game drives, bird watching, and optional hot air balloon safaris. Overnight at your lodge in Amboseli.
Day 9: To Tsavo West National Park – Game drive
After breakfast, travel to Tsavo West National Park. Have lunch at the lodge, then go on a game drive to see Mzima Springs and the many animals in the park like lions, elephants, crocodiles, buffalos, hippos, and more. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Tsavo.
Day 10: Return to Nairobi – Departure
Go for a morning game drive in Tsavo West before checking out. Drive back to Nairobi where your 10-day Kenya Safari ends. You will be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
